Inside the PTE Magic Masterclass 2025 in Manila
On October 11, 2025, fifty Filipino PTE aspirants gathered at the AIM Conference Center in Makati for a full day of learning. They came for the first-ever PTE Academic Masterclass in Manila. And they left with new strategies, proven templates, and a much clearer picture of the updated PTE exam. PTE Magic Philippines organized the event together with Pearson and ACE Exams Testing Hub. It brought together Pearson-certified trainers, test delivery experts, and students from across Metro Manila.
Last August 2025, Pearson rolled out major updates to the PTE Academic exam. The format now includes 22 question types instead of the original 20. Two new speaking tasks were added: Respond to a Situation and Summarize Group Discussion. On top of that, Pearson expanded human review for seven question types, including Describe Image, Retell Lecture, and Write Essay (Pearson PTE, 2025). These changes caught many Filipino students off guard. Most online guides were still based on the old format. Local review centers had not yet updated their materials.
