We understand there has always been an emigration culture in the Philippines, leading to a huge demand for the globally-accepted English test. PTE Academic, along with IELTS and IELTS, has gained popularity as an international English proficiency test for various purposes. However, it is still relatively new to many Filipino students.

Therefore, PTE MAGIC International held this event to help more Filipino students access comprehensive knowledge of this English test and open doors to study, work and settle in Australia and Canada.

At the event, Ms Moni Vuong, a PTE Academic coach with 6 years of teaching experience, shared insightful information on why students should choose the PTE Academic exam as the English proficiency test when applying for student visas in English-speaking countries, especially in Australia and Canada.

Ms Moni, the co-founder of PTE MAGIC, shared her experiences about teaching the PTE Academic in the workshop

Despite being a new player, PTE Academic has been widely accepted by universities, governments, and organizations worldwide. The PTE Academic test is one of the important language criteria for international students looking to study, work and settle in Australia and Canada.

Considering that nearly 20% of our students were Filipino, PTE MAGIC International strives to create more opportunities for PTE learners in the Philippines to easily access this test.

To help students better understand changes in student visas and study opportunities in Australia and Canada after 1 July 2023, we’ve also invited two esteemed speakers, Ms Sheryl from AUG Philippines and Ms Daphne Lavina. Along with invaluable personal stories, they also provided Filipino students with the latest updates on studies and pathways to work and immigration in these countries.

After 1 July 2023, work restrictions for student visa holders will be limited to 48 hours per fortnight to ensure that students focus on achieving a quality Australian education and qualifications.

However, international students who graduate with certain degrees linked to labour skills shortages in the Australian economy will have the opportunity to stay in Australia longer thanks to the extended post-study work rights policy.

Besides, the audience will get another good news that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will accept PTE Core scores for Canadian PR applications. PTE Core will launch by the end of 2023.

After informative sharing by education and immigration experts, the event held a Q&A session between students and speakers. The audience also left with new valuable information and enjoyed the games & giveaway sessions.

Students received rewards for joining games and giveaways.

Through this event, PTE Magic International aims to support more and more students in the Philippines to access the PTE Academic exam and achieve their goals.

We plan to host more events in other Philippine cities this year and set an annual goal of educating Filipino students about the incredible benefits of taking the PTE Academic exam.

I am a firm believer that the best teachers educate with their hearts not just their minds.
